Puppet Bike
One of my all time favorite things in Chicago is the “Puppet Bike.” If you
have ever been on Michigan Avenue, I’m sure you have seen it. It used to be at the corner of Michigan and Adams all the time; I would walk by it on my lunch break and it would never cease to make me smile no matter how bad a day I was having! However, I have not seen it in many months, possibly because I’m not downtown as much anymore.
But the other day I was up in Andersonville and to my delight, the puppet bike was up there! I saw on the “stage” that a website was written: http://www.puppetbike.com. So I came home, investigated this travelling treasure, and discovered the bike even has its own Wikipedia page! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puppet_Bike. The official site lists all
the puppets and their “hobbies” or “interests.” If you can’t catch a bike show, go to the site to put a smile on your face! Unfortunately though, there is no schedule of performances/locations. Perhaps that is the magic– you never know when you are going to see it! If these little puppets can’t put a smile on your face, I fear that nothing can!
